Prov Blog | What the Team Are Up To
Our Team are immensely talented and not just when it comes to pouring banging coffee. Outside of the Coffeehouse they’re all absolutely smashing it; running their own businesses, some grafting through education or pursuing passions elsewhere.
When you’re dropping by to pick up your usual coffee order on a busy day or stopping in for a brunch with friends you might not hear about what they’re up to but we love to hear about it and figured you might too.
We’re really proud to have such a unique and hard working group of individuals at the heart of what we do. If you look around Prov, from our retail shelves to the pictures we use on our socials you might notice some of the awesome work they’re doing and if you haven’t already, then maybe you will after reading this.
Glen | Trail Visuals
As well as pouring coffees I also own a company called Trail Visuals and I specialise in anything and everything when it comes to videography and photography! I’ve worked on short promo videos, product shoots, event videos, property videos and much more.
I started out as a photographer when I bought my first camera living in China in 2016 and enjoyed travel photography whilst exploring Asia. I moved back home to Eryri and started to love landscape photography, then got a job at Surf Snowdonia where I first started offering a professional product and started taking pictures of surfers.
Over the last 18 months I’ve started to offer video services, as well as drone services and I’m trying to expand my portfolio as much as possible! I’ve done a few photography shoots for Prov too so every now and again you might see my images popping up on our socials.
I do a special offer for local businesses with a quick 1-day turnaround so if you’re looking for some new photography/videography, get in touch!

Hope | HopelessMakes
Hope is one of our longest serving members of the Team but alongside her roles at Prov, she runs HopelessMakes where she creates and sells beautifully detailed digital illustrations.
You don’t have to look too far at Prov to spot Hope’s work, whether it’s her Map of Conwy prints on our retail shelves or the incredible custom merch design of Big Prov’s shop front on our new merch. You can recognise her illustrations a mile off and get lost in her incredible landscapes. It was only natural that we collaborate with Hope on our new merch design and it honestly couldn’t have come out better.
You can purchase hard copies of her print in different sizes at both Big Prov in Llandudno and Little Prov in Llandudno Junction, or online on the HopelessMakes Etsy store!
Katie L | Personal Training
When I’m not making coffee you will still find me sat in the Coffeehouse studying to be an online coach/personal trainer and by the end of this year I will be offering online coaching.
I will be helping women transform their physiques and have confidence in their own bodies. I have always had a passion for fitness, I love what it does to my mind, my body and even my lifestyle. Fitness changed my life and I hope I can help others feel the same way.
If you want to follow my journey you can follow my Instagram where I regularly post my workouts, tips and food.
Steven - Certificate of Higher Education in Counselling
It's a 2-year, part time, Level 4 qualification that allows you to be a practicing counsellor once you've passed and had 100 hours placement. Before this, I also had to complete my Level 2 and 3, which are 40-week spart-time altogether. I’ve been working on this at Llandrillo College alongside my role at Prov.
Emily - MA in Classical Studies
In September Emily will begin her Masters Degree in Classical Studies, balancing her Open Uni working with shifts behind the bar so we don’t have to say goodbye to her sunshiny disposition. Emily’s Masters will see her investigating a range of ancient and contemporary ideas about the Greek and Roman worlds before undertaking her final research project.
Oli - Playing Cricket for Llandudno Cricket Club
Oli’s been playing crciket for as long as he can rememeber, he captains Llandudno’s Welsh Cup side who have made it to the Welsh Cup Quarter-finals this year. In October Oli will be solo travelling to Rajasthan, India to train and play cricket with a local sports team.
Ryan - Level 3 Hospitality Supervisor and Leadership
I’ve undertaken a work-based Level 3 Diploma, run by Coleg Llandrillo. This means that my study hours include my working time behind the Coffeebar and I work with a tutor that regularly visits the Coffeehouse to ensure that I have the support that I need. It’s been a real benefit to me and my skills, I feel I can bring more to the table now that I’ve been working on my leadership skills.”
Katie F - BSc Neuroscience
Katie has been back joining the team behind the coffeebar in between term-times as she works her way through her degree in Manchester. Katie’s now back with us for the summer after finishing her second year studying Neuroscience, which included subjects like Human Sciences, Drugs & the Brain and Neurone Excitability (we’re not sure what this means but it sounds fun).
Richard - PhD in Philosophy and Religion
My PhD in Philosophy and Religion, specialises in Eastern Christianity. I’m currently doing my research and reading on church fathers and modern theologians! And I'll be doing that all through the summer too.
Ki - Musician / Grit Visulas
I have been on and off playing singer songwriter sets for local venues and events for the last ten plus years. I don’t play quite as much as I used to but I still play the odd local gig, my personal favourites have been Festival No.6, FOCUS Wales and heading back home to Anglesey for Menai Bridge Food Festival every year.
As well as music, I’ve also recently started offering fitness and sports photography as GRIT Visuals, creating content for coaches, athletes & fitness professionals which runs alongside my passion for fitness, namely olympic weightlifting.
