“Hey! What’s going on?”

It’s been a busy month here in Prov, with some unique events and exciting things happening every week! We’ve had Baby Showers, a poetry reading, new products on the shelves and new team members join us as well (Hi Katie and Leah!). Sadly, we’ve also had to say bye to three team members who’ve gone off to chase their dreams (Good luck Kat, Kat and Ellie!).

…Lend me your ears

A highlight of the month for Prov, and indeed the entire Prov community, was the launch of Glyn Edwards’ second poetry book, In Orbit. Local teacher, Glyn, garnered a vibrant and attentive audience which packed the entire coffee shop. Present were Glyn’s closest family and friends, many of his students and a bunch of our own regulars. Any more and we would have needed a bigger room!

Supporting Glyn were fellow Welsh poets, Gareth Culshaw and Ness Owen. These talented scribes came together one evening to engross the entire venue for a couple of hours, while we clutched our hot chocolates, mesmerised.

You can find Glyn on Instagram @glynfedwards or his website www.glynedwardspoet.co.uk

New Single Origin Coffee!

We’re super excited about our new single origin coffee, which will be going in the grinder this week! Murambi Hill from Burundi is a Natural coffee of the Bourbon varietal, which makes a great filter (you may have tried it in Prov before) and a phenomenal Espresso. We’re looking forward to introducing this one to you, if you’ve not had it before, and hoping you can join us in singing its praises.

Buy Huskee, get Coffee free

Made from recycled coffee pucks (what’s left over after we’ve poured and espresso), Huskee cups are a super clever, environmentally conscious alternative to your usual coffee cup. If you grab one of these next time you’re in Prov, you’ll get a free coffee with your purchase to take it for its first test drive!

6oz Huskee Cup: £13 8oz Huskee Cup: £14

Looking Forward…

We’ve got some interesting things coming up in April as well. On Saturday the 8th, we have PromAlly setting up a thrift dress shop in Provstretcher for any school leavers needing a more affordable Prom dress. From the Prom Ally website:

“Prom Ally offers the free loan of prom dresses and suits to school children, sixth form students and college students across the UK who otherwise couldn't afford one… I have created Prom Ally to help young girls and boys have the perfect prom night no matter what!”

Also happening in April, we have Providero’s first (hopefully of many) Jazz Brunch! Stop by on Bank Holiday Monday, April 10th to have your mid morning coffee accompanied by some soothing jazz!

Keep an eye on our Instagram and Facebook for annything else we’ve got going on in April. We hope to see you soon!
